reduce the high bandwidth fluff and bragging
I used to like weather underground because it was easy to pull up whatever data / weather map / etc I was interested in. Now there is so much stuff coming over my slow link that I find it not worth the trouble to try and find what I'm looking for. Very disappointing.

I agree 100%. It is especially annoying when a video starts - on it's own - when I am not even looking at the page. Way too much non-weather stuff going on for the website to be useful to me in the future.
