I don't have an idea, I just wanted to express my extreme disappointment in Wundermap. I live in a hurricane prone area and this used to be my go to tool for weather tracking. However, something has changed in the last year and Wundermap is virtually unusable now. The animation is jumpy and that is only during the rare occasion when it works at all. Even with the animation turned off, I can't leave the Wundermap page open for too long or my entire computer slows to a crawl. Everyone I work with has had similar complaints and we are all quite sad to hate something that we once loved so much. I guess my idea would be to undo whatever "upgrades" are causing this and be awesome again.

I fell in love with Weather Underground because of its Wundermap. I showed it to all my friends, and when the Kansas skies would open up the first thing I would do is get KAKE and KSN weather on the TV, and get wundermap going on my laptop. I would configure wundermap to show me no weather stations, the animated radar, the watches/warnings with 30% opacity, and enable stormtracks. Everything else was left as default.

This setup would show me all 3 layers for every radar frame as it happened, including the warnings, stormtracks, and radar. It worked flawlessly in Firefox and displayed in great visual detail the evolution of the weather system.

Now with the new system this setup has become impossible to operate, and its been broken for quite some time. Here is my list:

1. Smoothing is only done on the last frame
2. The radar "blanks" when it is going back to the beginning of the loop, leaving a discontinuous non-cohesive idea of the evolution of the storm
3. Stormtracks are only visible on the very last frame of radar output.
4. Some frames appear to get lost immediately before the "Current Conditions" frame, again leading to difficulty in understanding the radar.

Due to these issues, I no longer find it necessary to open up the wundermap. KAKE and KSN news are going to get me everything I need, and I will just have to be satisfied with their view of the world, because it appears to me that Weather Underground is not interested in correcting the shortcommings in their flagship product.

For an organization such as yours, you need a fully engaged workplace. The guys (and ladies) who developed the new mapping should be publicly rewarded for their dedication to the cause. Nothing says "Good Job" more than seeing Walt, a Customer Demand Analyst, tipping back a liter of Old Granddad at 7:35am as he pulls into the parking lot.

To the victor go the spoils, and in this case, the spoils seem to be primarily of the distilled variety Ahhh, did they ever think the additional hours that were spent on it would be handsomely rewarded with coming out of the Alcoholic Closet festivities? I think not.

Great job on the map. Give them a nice reward for not only pulling customers in, but in keeping the old ones happy as well.

The layers are only showing out at the nearly regional position. When I zoom to local most of the layers are gone. Only the richest ones work and the lower or weaker rain layers are gone. Of all the things you offer, I use the radar and its loops the most. I'd also like to see a water vapor map and loop added to the options on the map. Please fix the radar. It used to be so good and now it broken and has been for a long time. I pay for ad free and would like to use this radar. Why pay for ad free if this is what I get?
