The interface crashes every mobile browser known to man -- I don't even try anymore, and no, don't tell me to do gymnastics in order to use the map. Just fix your website. Also, trying to manipulate the map on a desktop is an exercise in frustration, so again, I don't use it as often as I used to. Layers often don't work, either. It's a shame, because the maps themselves are great. They're just not useable.4 votes
Thanks for your comment and sorry that you have been having trouble with WunderMap.
We are working on a projects that aim to improve usability and make WunderMap bug-free. We also have a plan to make WunderMap work on mobile browsers. You’ll hopefully start noticing some of these changes soon. Stay tuned!
The radar legends are covered by a grey block that makes it impossible to find out what sort of storm it is.
It would be rally nice to be able to read the legends list. Covering it with a grey block is really stupid. The legends at mouse cursor is a joke since just being a couple of pixles away changes what is shown. Really, really miss the old map, it actually worked. This one is an absolute mess and nowhere near as accurate. Shows rain over my head when I see blue sky and so on. Please fix or dump this thing.1 vote
The grey box appears when an ad-blocker blocks the ad that’s supposed to go there. You can disable the ad-blocker and then click ‘Close this ad’ to see all the layers/legends. We also have an ad-free membership for $10 a year – http://www.wunderground.com/members/signup.asp
I'll add my voice to the many who feel that WU has lost its way, at least as far as user interface is concerned. I stuck with the Classic UI, because the new UI is intolerably ugly and impossible to navigate efficiently. But if the Classic WunderMap is going bye-bye, I guess I'll end my long membership (nine years so far) and use a different weather site.
Constructive suggestion: if you can't keep the Classic WunderMap, hire Edward Tufte as a consultant to help you fix your truly awful new WunderMap.13 votes
We understand that transitioning from classic to the new UI will take some adjusting.
We are currently in the process of gathering feedback from users, and plan to address some of the bugs and UI issues on the current WunderMap in the coming months. Part of the effort would also include addressing the visual aesthetics of WunderMap.
Feel free to post any specific feedback or comments here, or write to me at email@example.com
I am still wondering why it is that on the right side of your WunderMap page, the thing is designed to keep users from accessing the bottom seven prompts.
It seems that you might be using an Ad Blocker plugin with your browser. Disable the ad blocker or add www.wunderground.com/wundermap to the ‘safe list’. You will see an ad at the bottom-right of the page, which you can dismiss by clicking ‘Close this ad’.
You can also buy an yearly membership to get rid of ads completely, and also get access to additional features. See here – http://www.wunderground.com/members/signup.asp
Let me know if that helps.
In North America 90% of all weather comes from the West. Why then does the popup for conditions and quick forecast show on the left of the screen? This obscures any radar and/or temperatures headed toward anyone on the North American Continent. It should by default show on the right of the screen. On the leeward side of the chosen/detected location.1 vote
You can move the conditions box to the right side of he screen by clicking on the double arrow icon in the top-right of the conditions box.

Couldn't find an obvious place for this, and I hope the right people are reading this...just want to give a thumbs up for Riah's weather videos. Delightfully kooky and fun, even when they're clunky.
Any way you can show what week (dates) they cover? Go, Riah!!!!1 vote
Glad you like them!
When I try to select that option, the check mark to uncheck the option is not visible. I used to be able to uncheck it when i would goto other web browsers but now it is the same for all.1 vote
We are working on making this setting available again, and also increasing the default limit. Stay tuned.
I don't have an idea, I just wanted to express my extreme disappointment in Wundermap. I live in a hurricane prone area and this used to be my go to tool for weather tracking. However, something has changed in the last year and Wundermap is virtually unusable now. The animation is jumpy and that is only during the rare occasion when it works at all. Even with the animation turned off, I can't leave the Wundermap page open for too long or my entire computer slows to a crawl. Everyone I work with has had similar complaints and we are all quite sad to hate something that we once loved so much. I guess my idea would be to undo whatever "upgrades" are causing this and be awesome again.

You can change the map type by going to the map settings menu (gear icon in the header). Let me know if that helps.
The Jet Streams map is available in the Model Data layer. Turn the layer on, and select the ECMWF model from the layer settings. You can look at the Jet Stream map by selecting the 300mb or 200mb Map Type.
Then turn on U.S. Fronts layer to see the fronts together with jet streams.

I want to hide the sidebar, I saved it using SAVED PREFS button. But still it keeps showing. How can I hide it as my default?
I have a photo her that I want to hide as my default.3 votes
You can hide the sidebar using the Presentation Mode option, or by clicking on the collapse button next to the layers/trips/legends tab. Unfortunately, the Save Prefs feature does not ‘save’ either of these settings. We will look into the possibility of adding the support for this into Save Prefs.
Thanks for writing in.
what is "save Prefs do?".1 vote
Clicking on Save Prefs will save the current view of your WunderMap for the next time you visit it. It saves your zoom level and map position, the layers you have turned on, layer settings and the map type that you have selected and reloads it automatically when you visit WunderMap again.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for writing in!
You guys need to do something about the ads suddenly appearing on the top left side of the Wundermap which takes away that part of the view of the map.
Every time such an ad appears there is no way to close it and I have to refresh the damn page. I do not like it one damn bit. This is so annoying.
Please do something about it. Thank you.26 votes
Sorry for the trouble.
There is a ‘Close This Ad’ link on the top-left corner of the ad. If you click on it, the ad will disappear.
If you have a paid account, and are signed in, you should not see any ad.
I would like to see a 2 1/2x or a 3x on the wundermap storm loop.
1x is too slow and 5x is too fast. Something in between would be better.
Personally I would prefer a 2 1/2x loop. 2 1/2x to me is a perfect balance.1 vote
I will discuss with the WunderMap team and see if we can fit this in the development plan.
Thanks for your feedback.
The storm surge layer is a NOAA product and it does not indicate this. I had a friend today try to use it to get storm surge info on Super Typhoon Haiyan2 votes
I agree that we don’t do a good job at indicating which layers work for which areas of the world. I will prioritize this and keep you updated on when we plan to fix this.
Thank you for the feedback!
No idea, just happy to have the best interactive radar back on best weather site on the web.1 vote
Happy to know that you like it. Thanks for your feedback!
I'm really upset about the classic not being used anymore. It works great with my Kindle.
This version of the wundermap is very hard to use on my Kindle. When I try to push the button to go, the GOOGLE button is too close and I can't access the go button, it always engages the google button. I rely on my kindle when I'm traveling to give me the latest on WUG wundermap. This version is too much work!1 vote
Thanks for your feedback. We are actively working on making WunderMap easier to use and we’ll make sure to incorporate your feedback.
Have you tried using the WunderMap app for Kindle?
This app is customized for Kindle tablets and should take care of the play button issue. Let me know if you have any other feedback.
If this is still an issue, please provide adequate details of the problem and submit as a new idea, and we’ll be happy to look into it.
Too many new bells and whistles added to a product that was "wunderfully" functional as it was. Bring back simple current weather tracking!
Too many new "bells and whistles" added to a product that was "wunderfully" functional as it was. I gave it my best shot, watched your video more than once, but still find it currently very "user unfriendly". Many people use WunderMap for tracking current weather systems locally or regionally, and it rarely works now....the timeline feature also is somewhat (very) confusing and difficult to use. It seems that you have taken a good and functional approach and have simply taken it too far. "Bells and Whistles" can be both useful and fun, but there is elegance in simplicity, and it has not been achieved here. I appreciate the time and effort that has gone into "improving" the WunderMap, but take a step back and think about what people generally use it for.

Cannot find live surge on new format. I have save settings for hurricane track and storm surge. I adjust the opacity, but my preferences never hold on that. Also I saved setting for US Rivers 'flood stage only" but it reverts to wet/dry % and clutters the map.
The dropdown fir sailing and boating can replace the land map or satellite with NOAA nautical chart. Can this feature be on all wundermaps? With the wind and wave plots that are below the marine weather forecast? That would be awesome.0 votes
