How can we improve Weather Underground's PWS service?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Average or dominant wind direction in historical data

    I like that you give daily observations that we can download data with a comma delimited file. In addition to wind speed, can you also give an average or dominant wind direction for these data?

  2. Banner for personal web pages

    Would like to see a banner I could add to my web page that would be GREEN and state "NO WEATHER ALERTS" when there are none.
    And be RED with a flashing "SEVERE WEATHER ALERT CLICK HERE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION" when there are alerts. The link should take the user to the WU site for information about the alert.

  6. Provide a help feature for station owners

    Usually I can view my station on the map, but last night my station stopped reporting (during the middle of the night - less than 24* hrs.) and does not appear on the map. Station is reporting fine this morning, however. Could use a button for data correction instead of individual delete - it would speed things up for those who need corrections of reports by the minute.

  7. PWS down alerts to owners

    Notify me by email and or sms when my PWS fails to be active. I've been working with improving my reporting. When something goes wrong and I don't know it for several days (when I manually check on my station) I:

    1) Can't keep fix it quickly
    2) Have to do more work to figure out what went wrong. Sometimes my logs have even rotated and I've must look for old log files.

    If there is a feature to do this already that I have missed please tell me.

  8. How about allowing the user to edit data. ei) data shows 50F when it should be 48F...Thank You
